INSPIRE STEM participated in the biggest annual event for all engineers in Tanzania. This was a two-days celebration of Engineer’s Day done in Mlimani city, Dar es Salaam Tanzania from 1st to 2nd September 2016. Annual meetings of engineers are traditionally organized by the Engineers Registration Board, a special statuary body established to monitor and regulate all engineering-relating activities in Tanzania. It gives all Tanzanian engineers an opportunity to share their ideas and experience in engineering practice.
INSPIRE STEM participation in annual engineers day was an opportunity to use government /community-driven events as a platform to encourage more children and teenagers in pursuing studies and careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) thus we can reach the goal of the middle-income country as this year motto was. Most importantly was to remind engineers as STEM mentors that in their daily activities they nurture, educate and encourage as well as play a vital role in inspiring a passion for science and technology in the young generation.
In our booth we demonstrated via screen different programs which we usually do TOTO TECH, STEM BOOT CAMP also we had a project which were developed by STEM beneficiaries like solar power banks as well as electrical models for beginners.
It was our pleasure that our booth got visitors like his Excellency President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr John Pombe Magufuli and other guests like Eng. Peter M. (Quality assurance officer TBS), Eng. Mbaruku M. (Technical director Popular contractor LTD), Reginald B.M (Biomedical engineer ORCI) just to mention a few.
