Are you a secondary school student interested in becoming part of the rapidly growing movement to improve Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics  (STEM) Learning in Tanzania? Here is an opportunity to become one of the participants of the Second Annual STEM Youth Boot Camp that will take place in the first week of January 2017.

International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative backed by all ITU Member States in ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014). It aims at creating a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

This was the first of many boot camps in STEM that will be organised with Projekt Inspire in partnership with Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha and many other  Stakeholders including Tanzania STEM Initiative.

TotoTech programs powered by Projekt Inspire and BUNI Fab Lab engages primary school kids in a wonderfully interesting and funny way of learning in the fields of science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM).

TotoTech is a programme designed for primary school students which intends to entice kids to take part of Science, Technology, Engineering and mathematics education by exposing them to trending technologies like 3D printing.

The number of students pursuing STEM education in tertiary institution has been dropping from 34% in 2004 to 14% in 2012. Due to this, Inspire STEM has decided to organize a STEM Boot Camp for Secondary School Students in Tanzania in order to promote STEM education and participation amongst Tanzanian youth.

International Day of the Girl Child (Day of the Girl) is celebrated annually on October 11 to highlight issues concerning the gender inequality facing young girls. This year’s theme is “The Power of the Adolescent Girl: Vision for 2030.”
